Its no wonder The Wild Goose has such a good reputation for its great food as most of the produce, which is always cooked fresh to order, literally gets delivered from a ten mile radius.

Meat and game from Bovey Tracey or the fresh fish and seafood from Newton Abbot make sure the menu is packed full of favourites.

With a new chef firmly on board and menus to match the Wild Goose continues to please.

Further Details

The Wild Goose started life as a homestead of a small farm known as Holman's.

This is probably the reason why it was called the Country House Inn when it became a pub in 1840.

The name was changed to the Wild Goose Inn in the 1960's when a local farmers geese would attack the customers as they came and went.

Although there are no geese to chase the customers around these days, there are certainly one or two fine pints of real ale to enjoy from some of the best west country brewers.
