Award wining Chef Ben Handley and wife Jackie relocated to Dartmouth to realize a life long dream and have been handsomely rewarded with an AA Rosette and Gold Taste of the West award.

The only restaurant in the village of Strete, a pretty village just a short drive from Dartmouth should suit Ben and Jackie Handley very well.

This husband and wife team have over 40 years of experience between them which has paid off with a Rosette for outstanding food and a Taste of the West Gold award to their credit for 2009.

Ben understands flavours and combinations through his 20 years of working in busy kitchens around the country and has won 2 AA Rosette's on more than one occasion.

Wife Jackie is no stranger to Front of House duties or restaurant management and has brought all that experience to bear at the Laughing Monk.

A social, welcoming approach combine with fresh locally sourced food cooked simply and to perfection has made the Laughing Monk hard to beat.
