| With traditional home-made pub grub favourites such as cottage pie, lasagne, burgers and cod and chips on the menu at the centuries-old Bay Horse Inn, choosing can take some time. Daily specials include steak and pepper pie – imagine a creamy steak au poivre under a shortcrust pastry lid – and the very tasty lemon and thyme chicken. Beef, pork, chicken and lamb from nearby farms are turned into mouth-watering dishes by landlady Gina Coles, while her husband Will makes sure the real ales on offer are in tip-top condition.
